When you click the Download Image button to your left, you will be prompted to download the Taxi Accountant software for drivers. You can chose to save it or run it. If you chose to save it, you have the advantage that if you need another copy, you do not need to download it again. But remember that we do improvements on our software on a regular bases, so ensure that your saved copy is the latest. If you chose to save it, you can burn your own CD, and keep a copy of the software on your own CD. If you chose to save it, remember where you have saved it into, find the saved file and double click for installation. We recommend to save it first as it makes it easier for you to install it again.

After a while, you will see the installation procedure starting up. You will be prompted in the due course. We recommend to select to install this software not just for yourself, but for all users, when you are prompted in the due course.

On Windows Vista and Seven, when you have installed the software, always start it up running it as administrator!

Do you have the latest version of  the Taxi Accountant? We constantly improve our software and the latest version is always the best. How do you know if you have the latest version? The latest version is Sub Version 17.

If it says Subversion 17, Dated 10. November 2011 you have the latest version. If not please download this software. There is no charge for updating to a newer version. To update simply download the latest version and install just the same as if it was a new installation.

The improvements of Subversions from the previous are:

• There is a bug fix in the deductions page. With the previous version the tool bar was missing and you were not able to add any deductions.
• The monthly shift report view and print has been improved by using crystal report.

• From Subversion 6 (Release Date 26.October 2010): When running on Vista or Windows 7 a prompt will appear when starting the application advising to run the application as an administrator. For those people, who run the Taxi Accountant software on Windows 2000 or Windows XP, it will not affect them. Also the help file has been updated to include this Windows Vista and 7 advise. If the application is run on Win Vista or 7, there will be an extra help menu button on the top, where this start up advise can be shown at any given time.
• The installation will no longer prompt for a re-start as it is and always proved to be unecessary.
• This is the first Windows 64 (x 64) installation as well as 32 bit (x86) installation.
• When carrying out activity (BAS) reporting, you can now select individual start and end dates as you desire.
• Fixed bug in the crystal report repairer. 
• From Subversion 7 (Release Date 11.Novermber 2010): This version is designed to ensure if you run Windows Vista or Windows 7, it will always run as an Administrator. The special Windows Vista and 7 prompt which comes up when the application starts up will only be shown if the user wants it to be shown. There is a check box, that can be unchecked so it will no longer show up at start up. This can be reset by opening up the configuration form. This changes will only affect users on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
• From Subversion 8 (Release Date 20.Novermber 2010): When installing a later subversion the error log will be deleted and we are also able to read the Sub version number from the error log. It is easier for us to debug problems should they arise.
• From Subversion 9 (Release Date 7.January 2011): Auto prompts for later update.
• From Subversion 10 (Release Date 27.January 2011): There is a bug fix when changing the Tax Year. We have seen this bug, where the user cannot change the tax year on Vista, but this may have happened on other operating systems as well. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there are any more issues, as you are doing us a favor. With sub version 10, if an error still occurs when changing the tax year, the user will be prompted to open an alternative form where the tax year can also be changed. Should this prompt come up, let us know as it will help us future development.
• From Subversion 11 (Release Date 14.February 2011): Bug fix with ceating daily shifts, in regard to selection of the correct date. A shift date could be created, which lies outside the tax-year. For example you may be in tax year 2010, but you can use a date such as 1.7.2008. If this happens, then the monthly shift records cannot be created from the daily shifts with accurate figures. This has been fixed and from now on only dates can be selected within the selected tax year. Also when clicking to add another shift day, the software now knows what the last shift date was, and will show that as default value when it comes to selecting the date. Important: This bug fix will not repair files, that have been corrupted by a previous sub version.
• From Subversion 12 (Release Date 12.March 2011):
  Improved the Summary Form for the final tax reporting and made it easier and clearer to understand. Added a new tab to facilitate to record taxi income that were not added to the shift, such as government wheel chair payments and any other taxi income. Bug fixes.
• From Subversion 13 (Release Date 2.April 2011):
  Unless you need to purchase a license, or need to re-register the application, you will not see any difference between the previous sub version (12), except for the help file that has added information in how to purchase our software from our web site. Basically the changes were made as we have improved Internet security when purchasing our software from our Credit Card facility on our web site. 
• From Subversion 14 (Release Date 9.April 2011): 
  Bug Fix presumably since Subversion 12, but not quite sure exactly when this bug came in. The bug fix is as follows:
  When viewing the driver's form (with all the tabs in it) the left buttons do not navigate where they should. This has been fixed. 
• From Subversion 15 (Release Date 15.May 2011): 
  There will not be a difference for users who have already purchased this software. The difference between the previous version is, that it makes the credit card purchase over the secure web site easier for the user.
• From Subversion 16 (Release Date 17.July 2011): 
  The changes are relevant for the few and odd taxi drivers who find the time to do daily shift reporting. Daily shift reporting is not mandatory but this feature is facilitated. When selecting daily shift in the car grid, a prompt comes up, advising the user that daily shifts are not mandatory. Some software users found this prompt annoying. This prompt can now be turned off and on as the user desires.
• From Subversion 17 (Release Date 10.November 2011) if you download from the 14 November - this is a new installer: 
  We had some issues with date validation and they have been fixed. Also we improved the looks on the Activity Report Print forms slightly. If you download our software after the 14.November, there is a newer install shield. You will no longer be prompted to install certain things, if you have already installed a previous version before and there is an install improvement on Windows Vista and Seven.

How to set up the Taxi Accountant:

If the owner does not get any share of the takings:

• Open the cars tab, and set each car for 100% driver take.
• In the Shift tab, you must enter the levy paid to the owner.
• If the driver pays his own fuel, he/she must put the fuel cost into the shift table.

If for example the same car, let's say car 33, has owner share for day drivers, but no owner share for night drivers, you must add the car in the cars table twice and set the driver percentage accordingly. For instance:

• Car 33-Day, the driver share = 50%;
• Car 33-Night, the driver share = 100%;

In this way you have the same car twice in your cars table, for two different conditions.

Daily shift reports:

There is no requirements to do an entrance for every day. This is optional. The software only needs monthly takings to calculate GST and tax reports. However the user can do a daily shift report if he wishes, and then by the click of a button generate monthly reports from the daily reports. The monthly reports are mandatory for this software to work.

SOME BASIC INFORMATION:

• Drivers who share a percentage with the owners.
• Drivers who share a percentage with the owners and pay a shift levy in addition.
• Drivers who take 100% of their takings (no owner share), but pay the owner a fixed fee (shift levy).
• Drivers can include their own fuel payment if they have to purchase their own fuel.

The Taxi Accountant for Cab Drivers

Description:

 A file based program (not database based), on which a taxi driver can input daily or monthly income and expenses. The software will calculate GST reporting, and end of the year tax summary report. It is ideal if one does not wish to use a tax agent or accountant for BAS reporting and is hence a much cheaper option. This software also facilitates printing out reports. It can also work in conjunction with Supremweb's Taxi Fleet Manager software, where an owner or fleet managing firm can send invoices to the driver's Taxi Accountant software, so the driver will not need to do too much typing. It can also work independently on its own. The software is designed for cab drivers who have limited time due to the long hour shifts and have limited typing and computer skills. Because the program is not database based, but file based (using XLM files) it is easy to install. This software is used by cab drivers who drive taxi other than their own. For the owner driver there is the Taxi Fleet Manager available from Supremweb. This software has a 30 days free trial period and this period will be renewed for another 30 days if there is a newer subversion. It normally costs 89 AUD but it is currently on promotion for only 19.90 AUD. The Taxi Accountant can be freely downloaded from the web site.
